Alumni Club Initiatives
Here is an outline of some of the initiatives we are already doing with our funds and what we want to do as our membership swells. These are just a few of the requirements of ensuring we have an active and vibrant alumni club that not only ensures the continuation of the brotherhood of our alumni, but the health and competitiveness of the active undergraduate Chapter.
Our Grand Council requires each alumni club to pay dues of $300 year (this sum will soon increase to $1000 per year as announced at the recently convened convocation).
We feel that an updated and functional website is necessary to support the chapter’s growth and the alumni association. Professional programing and maintenance are needed to support the effort.
We need to establish and maintain an accurate database of all initiated AP Sigma Pi’s. Since our inception, over 1600 men have been initiated into our brotherhood. This effort is a tall task and very labor intensive.
Regular communication of activities to support the chapter; our intent would be to communicate directly where possible via email but also to post information to our website which carries costs.
With going on 76 years of initiated brothers, we also have 76 years of chapter composites; many of which are displayed on the chapter walls; however, wall space is getting short in supply so an effort to “digitalize” the older composites and house these on our website is needed.
Organize at least two annual events to support the chapter; right now, those are the annual Golf Tourney and Homecoming.
Support chapter attendance at our fraternity’s semi-annual convocation via travel and expense re-imbursement for attendees.
Supplement our already outstanding scholarship programs.
Periodic upgrades to the chapter house and/or it’s furnishings and amenities. (These to be offered when the Chapter demonstrates they are deserving of such help.)
Develop an electronic medium for the purpose of paying membership dues and making financial contributions, these programs generally come with a fee for handling the transactions.
This list is by no means complete and will evolve over time through input and participation of more alumni membership.
